Seal Finds Temporary Home In Falmouth Cranberry Bog
Officials from the International Fund for Animal Welfare are hopeful the seal will find its way back to a natural habitat.
FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police have found a seal in an unusual place. Officials announced that the annual had found a home in a local cranberry bog over the weekend.
However, police have asked the public to leave the seal alone if they see it.
Representatives from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) are monitoring the seal, and police said public interaction could hinder the animal from returning to its natural habitat.

Two types of seals, harbor and grey seals, are most commonly found in the North Atlantic waters of Cape Cod. It's unclear which variety has made its way into the bog.
