Barnstable Sheriff's Office Employee Waved Gun At Another Driver: State Police
A Barnstable County Sheriff's Office employee is on leave after State Police said he waved a gun at another driver.
CAPE COD, MA — A Barnstable County Sheriff's Office employee is on leave after charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and threats to commit a crime were filed against them.
Sheriff's officials announced this news, along with an internal investigation, on Thursday.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on July 29, troopers assigned to the Bourne Barracks responded to a 911 caller stating a red Ford Explorer was tailgating him on Route 25 eastbound in Wareham. While tailgating him, the driver of the car — Gregory Djaoen, 37, of New Bedford — flashed a handgun at him in a threatening manner.

The 911 caller was able to give a description and location of the vehicle, and a trooper responding observed the vehicle and eventually stopped it in the Bourne Rotary.
After an investigation on scene, including taking witness statements and interviewing both operators, troopers placed Djaoen under arrest and seized a firearm found in the car before taking him to the Bourne Barracks for booking.
