Wareham's Verilife Not Confirmed By State, Aims To Open Soon
The company walked back its initial opening date announced this week.

WAREHAM, MA – Medical marijuana shop Verilife announced Friday afternoon it has not been officially confirmed to start selling recreational marijuana on Dec. 18. The company previously said it would be the fourth cannabis dispensary in the state to offer recreational marijuana starting Tuesday.
"We hope to be able to release an opening date soon," the statement read, according to Wicked Local. "We apologize for any confusion and will keep you updated."
A spokesperson for the Cannabis Control Commission confirmed the Wareham shop has not yet received a notice to commence operations.

The Cannabis Control Commission approved a final license for the dispensary on Nov. 1. It began selling medical marijuana over the summer.
The shop will be the first to open in southeastern Massachusetts. It will soon be joined by Northeast Alternatives in Fall River, which was one of four shops to receive approval at a Cannabis Control Commission hearing Thursday.
