Worker Injured After Wall Falls At Falmouth Construction Site
A worker suffered "traumatic" though non-life-threatening injuries after a fallen wall briefly pinned him to the ground, officials said.
FALMOUTH, MA — A construction worker building a Falmouth home was flown to a Rhode Island hospital for treatment of serious injuries after a wall fell on him during the work, officials said.
On Tuesday around 11:15 a.m., the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department responded to a construction site on North Falmouth Highway after a worker was reportedly injured when a wall fell and struck him.
Officials said a side wall on the second floor of a home under construction was being raised and, during this process, the wall came down and briefly pinned the worker.

Other workers removed him from underneath the structure before the fire department's arrival, officials said.
When fire personnel did arrive, they found a male patient who sustained "traumatic non-life-threatening injuries requiring extrication from the second floor of this structure."

Personnel utilized technical rescue equipment and the department aerial ladder to remove the patient to an awaiting ambulance. He was then transported to an awaiting Med Flight at the Falmouth Hospital landing zone.
The patient was flown to the Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center to receive treatment.
Representatives from OSHA, town inspectional services and the Falmouth Police Department were on the scene to investigate this incident.
