Brady Hoping to Stay Out of Trump Debate
The Patriots quarterback was asked again Monday about his friendship with Donald Trump and possible support of his presidential campaign.

Don’t expect to see Tom Brady at any Donald Trump rallies in the foreseeable future.
During his weekly appearance on WEEI Monday morning, Brady was asked point-blank if he was supporting Trump for president.
“Can I just stay out of this debate?” Brady said with a laugh according to the Boston Herald. “Donald is a good friend of mine. I’ve known him for a long time. I support all my friends, that’s what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine, he’s always been so supportive of me.”

“He’s always invited me to play golf. I’ve always enjoyed his company, and I support all of my friends in everything they do,” he said.
Brady was told that his comments could be interpreted as a sign of support for Trump. When asked if he had any other friends running for president, he said, ”This is really important to you guys, huh?”

In September, reporters noticed a ”Make America Great Again,” hat in Brady’s locker. The Patriots quarterback said it was a gift from Trump and was asked if he thought the controversial candidate could win.
“I hope so. That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn, I’m sure of that.,” Brady said at the time.
Despite claims from Trump that the remark was an endorsement, Brady backtracked weeks later, telling WEEI that his comments were blown out of proportion.
