Mustang Boys Cross-Country Team Loses Home Opener Tri-Meet

The Marian High boys cross-country team lost to Bishop Fenwick 18-39 and lost to Archbishop Williams 18-45.

The Marian High Mustangs kicked off its cross-country season Tuesday afternoon at Callahan State Park in Framingham, hosting Bishop Fenwick and Archbishop Williams.

The boys cross-country team lost to Bishop Fenwick 18-39 and lost to Archbishop Williams 18-45, said Marian High head coach Chris Collins.

Sophomore Declan Walsh was the top Mustang on the 3-mile course, said Collins. He finished in 18:54 minutes.

Other Mustang times were:

  • Sophomore Foxe Gladden at 22:54
  • Sophomore Sal Maglione at 22:56
  • Sophomore Kevin Chen at 26:27
  • Sophomore Daniel Zhao at 27:37
  • Sophomore Leo Gong at 29:59
  • Senior Chris Ryan at 36:43

Chen, Zhao and Gong are exchange students from China, who just joined the team last week, said Collins.

St. Bridget’s School grade 8 student Cameron McNeil, who will attend Marian next year, finished the course in 27:48 minutes, said Collins.
