Hatred and Discrimination have No Place in American Society

As the nation prepares for the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8, nearly 70 Members of Congress and I participated in the NOH8 on the Hill photo campaign to show support for marriage equality. Wearing the “NOH8” logo, I pledged to stand strong until discrimination in our laws is rooted out. It is time that equality for LGBT Americans is the law of the land. I envision an America where our commitment to equality is upheld for all citizens.
