Emergency Repairs Could Delay Traffic, Will Cut Water to Some Homes

Some homes will lose water service on Thursday and there may be some traffic delays on Bay Road to repair a broken water line.

Emergency water line repairs will happen on Thursday along Bay Road in Hamilton.

The Hamilton Water Department said on Wednesday afternoon that workers will be undertaking emergency repair along Bay Road (Route 1A) on Thursday, May 9 to repair a water main break. Work will start at 7 a.m.

Residents on Manor Hill and Northedge roads and those from 1031 Bay Road to the to the Ipswich town line on both sides of the road will not have any water service from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The work may also cause “short delays” for drivers but the road will remain open, the Water Department said.

“Should you experience discolored water, please turn on your outside spigots or run your cold water until the lines run clear,” the water department said. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
