Heat Could Cause 'Dangerous Conditions,' Temps Could Reach 101 Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Wednesday due to hot temperatures and high humidity that could lead to heat illnesses.

Wednesday is going to be a scorcher, with heat index values up 101 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The high predicted for Hamilton and Wenham is 97 degrees.

The weather issued a heat advisory early Wednesday morning that is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. and says that with the heat indices so high, it could result in "dangerous conditions for those spending prolonged periods of time outside."

"The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible," says the NWS. "Avoid prolonged work in the sun or in poorly ventilated areas. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned environment, stay out of the sun and check in on relatives and neighbors."
