League to Host Town Meeting Issues Forum

The issues on the warrant at the Oct. 30 special Town Meeting will be discussed at a League of Women Voters forum three days beforehand.

The League of Women Voters of Hamilton-Wenham have announced it will be holding a Voters' Forum for Hamilton voters before the fall Special Town Meeting.

The forum will be on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Winthrop School, 325 Bay Road.

The form will be televised on Hamilton-Wenham Cam.

The purpose of the forum is to provide voters an opportunity to learn about the issues that they will be considering at Town Meeting on Oct. 30 and at the Town Election on Nov. 9, according to the League's Carin Kale. 

Specifically, it will address Town Meeting articles about the Estates Overlay District, the Willow Street Overlay District and the establishment of an Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Additionally, it will discuss the issue on the Town Election ballot about the Senior Tax Exemption program.

Kale said she is still confirming the forum presenters.
