School Committee Contest Will be Decided by Hamilton Voters on Thursday

The Hamilton Annual Town Election will be held on Thursday at Winthrop Elementary School. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hamilton voters will decide who will fill three open seats on the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee in Thursday's .

Three School Committee members - outgoing chairman Alexa McCloughan, Dacia Rubel and Jack O'Keefe - have all decided to not seek reelection.

There are five candidates for three open three-year positions.

and the results from the School Committee election were sealed and will be combined with Hamilton's tally on Thursday to determine the winners.

Larry Swartz is also running unopposed for a one year term on the School Committee. Swartz is an existing member of the School Committee who when long-term School Committee member Donald Gallant resigned after 19 years to become the district's treasurer.

There are also two candidates to fill two open three-year position on the Board of Selectmen - existing Chairman Jennifer Scuteri and former selectman David Neill, who is planning to return to the board. Selectman David Carey is not seeking reelection.

Also unopposed on the ballot is Moderator Bruce Ramsay for a one-year term, Steve Ozahowski for reelection to a three-year term on the Board of Assessors, current Planning Board Chairman Peter Clark for reelection to a five-year term, Claudia Woods to fill two years of an unexpired five year term on the Planning Board, Warren (Bob) Gray for a five year term of the Housing Authority and Jean Buckley and Annette Janes, both seeking reelection to two, three-year terms on the Board of Trustees.
