Foster 5th Grader Creates This Year's 4th of July Button

Eleanor Collins, a 5th grader from Foster School designed the 2012 Hingham Fourth of July button.

Each year the 5th grade students at East, South, Foster, Plymouth River Schools under the supervision of their Art Teachers, Mr. Bliss (East), Ms. Mayo (South) Ms. McKeon (Foster), Ms Marsjanik (PRS) create many designs depicting the parade theme. Once again there was a wonderful selection for the Committee to choose from for this year Parade Button. The winners will have the opportunity to be guests of honor on parade day by riding in Ginny Gray’s baby blue Saab convertible waving to the crowds of spectators lining the parade route.

This is the design by Eleanor Collins, a 5th grader from Foster School.

Her entry, selected from all of the drawings submitted this year, really depicted the theme for this year – "Hingham's Parade of Heroes."
