Foster School to Hold Annual Autumn Fair

will hold their annual Fall Fair on Oct. 15 to celebrate the beginning of autumn.

Foster’s fun-filled family event is expected to be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school on Downer Avenue, and will feature a host of activities and games for all ages.

The annual fair is Foster’s largest fundraiser of the school year and all proceeds go directly to the school’s curriculum enrichment programs for student’s school-wide. The money raised helps pay for field trips, author visits, and various in-school activities and presentations.

“Foster School’s fall fair is a vibrant event that the entire community looks forward to each year,” Foster Principal Dr. Debbie Stellar said in an email. “We encourage everyone to come join the fun and help support Foster’s enriching programs in the process.”

Children who attend will be able to run through an obstacle courses, slip down a giant slide, crawl around in life-size hamster balls, and create arts and crafts projects like pumpkin decorating, sand and flower art, face and nail painting and tattoos.

Adults will get the chance to bid in a silent auction which will offer a wide range of get-away vacation packages such as a weekend trip to Cape Cod and Little Compton, R.I.  The auction will also include Red Sox box tickets,  season tickets to the Atlantic Symphony, an autographed photo of Red Sox slugger J.D. Drew, $2,000 worth of orthodontics, personal training sessions, golf outings, birthday party packages, framed art items and thematic baskets.

At the fair,  hamburgers and hotdogs, drinks, popcorn and cotton candy will be available along with a variety of baked goods to be sold at the fairs bake table.
