Hingham Baseball Set to Battle Oliver Ames in State Tourney
If the rain holds off, the HHS baseball team's state championship quest will begin this afternoon.

UPDATE: Today's scheduled game has been postponed due to rain. It has been rescheduled to Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Cronin Field.

The No. 2 ranked Hingham High School baseball team will play their first playoff game Tuesday against the No. 7 ranked Oliver Ames at Cronin Field at 4:00 p.m.

Oliver Ames, a public high school in Easton, MA defeated Pembroke, 5-4, in the first round of the Division 2 South Sectional tournament on Saturday as Hingham earned a first round bye.
The winner will move onto the semi-finals to play the winner of the Dennis-Yarmouth/Plymouth North game which will also be played today.

Hingam finished their season as Patriot League Champions with a 15-3 overall record, and 10-3 record in the division.
Last season, after earning a first round bye, in the second round.
In the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional tournament, only Dighton Rehoboth (18-2) was placed higher than Hingham, earning the NO. 1 seed.
