Hingham Fields Committee Set To Answer Questions From Public
On Monday, Hingham residents are invited to ask questions and provide feedback to the Ad Hoc Fields Committee.
The Ad Hoc Fields Committee, which is charged with developing a design for the athletic fields at Hingham High School, will hold an open meeting on Monday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall to solicit public feedback.
During the meeting, the Committee will review it’s recommendation for the design of the fields, solicit community feedback, and provide an update on the construction of the track and tennis courts.
The Committee has recommended to the School Board a design that includes a multi-purpose field adjacent to the current track with bleachers accommodating about 2,000 people. The design also calls for moving a junior varsity softball field across Union Street, increasing the size of the lower parking lot, and re-grading the varsity baseball field and adding drainage, among other things. The Committee would also like community input on additional topics including, but not limited to, usage and the potential for artificial turf and lights.
