Hingham Makes List of America's Best High Schools

Hingham was ranked No. 609 out of 1,000 on the list of America's Best High Schools. Hingham was only one of two South Shore schools to make this list.

The hard work of Hingham High School teachers, faculty and students was recognized nationally this week as HHS was named to the list of America’s 1,000  Best High Schools.

The list released by The Daily Beast,  was made up of the high school’s that are proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads.

Hingham was ranked No. 609 out of 1,000 and joined  20 other Massachusetts schools on the list.  The highest rated Massachusetts school was Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis which ranked No. 46.  Hingham along with Duxbury (No. 297) were the only  South Shore high School’s that made this list.

The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered  per student(5 percent).
