Hingham School Community Partners to Be Honored

The 2011 "Class" of School-Community Partners will be honored at a breakfast reception in the library at East School at 9:30 a.m. on November 17.

The Hingham Public Schools will hold its second annual recognition ceremony to honor the individuals, local businesses and civic organizations that have contributed to the enhancement of education in the local schools.

The 2011 “Class” of School-Community Partners will be honored at a breakfast reception in the library at at 9:30 a.m. on November 17.  Winners  will be presented certificates by School Committee Chair Linda Hill.

The School-Community Partnership stems from the beliefs that public education is in fact a community endeavor. Receipients believe that there are many ways (both big and small) that individuals, businesses and community organizations can support and enhance the educational process to benefit students and school programs and services.

The members of this cohort of School Community Partners have donated funds, services or goods for particular activities or events.  Others have been ongoing benefactors with support for multiple school projects; and some have given their their time and talent or expertise for a unique endeavor.

The Hingham School-Community Partnership is a new endeavor, and not all those who were nominated could be included in the first and second cohort groups.  Similar recognitions to honor additional “Partners” are planned as annual pre-Thanksgiving events.
