The Hingham Public Schools system is increasing their budget.

The Hingham Schools is expecting a 5.98 percent increase for fiscal 2013, the Boston Globe reports.

According to an article on Boston.com,  the Special Education portion of the budget will increase 11.23 percent (from $9,450,450 to $10,511,729) from FY12 to FY13, and the regular education budget will increase 4.02 percent (from $28,911,445 to $30,074,788).

Increases are the result of higher fuel prices, faculty salary increases and a transportation contract for busses that is up for renewal this year, the Globe reports.

Last year, the faculty settled on a   In the new three-year agreement, from 2011-14, there are three successive 2 percent increases in the salary scale for each of the years and some language changes related to bereavement leave, maternity leave, and personal leave.
