Hingham Special Education Council To Hold Information Night
The Hingham SEPAC will hold a panel discussion called "An Evening to Celebrate Inclusion" on December 7.

The Hingham Special Education Parent Advisory Council will celebrate its inclusion program next month.
The Hingham SEPAC will hold a panel discussion called “An Evening to Celebrate Inclusion” on December 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at in Room 103.
There is an overview of special education law which will be given by Dr. Jean Curtis Loud, Director of Student Services. Loud will explain how a child is determined eligible to receive special education services.

There will also be a presentation on specialized reading programs to be given by Ms. Liz O'Neill, Special Education Teacher at South School. O’Neill will explain how specialized reading programs can change a child's life and how they are used in the Hingham Public School system.
The presentation will also include a discussion on the social-emotional well-being of siblings of children with special needs to be presented by Ms. Jennifer Milia, School Psychologist at East School. Milia will explain how siblings must learn to live with, and sometimes care for, a sibling who may require intensive attention and intervention from parents and professionals. A wide range of feelings toward their sibling with special needs may include fear, resentment, acceptance, and love.
