Hingham Student Wins Runner-Up Prize in Dependable's Read to Ride Program

Winnerr Will Malloy enjoys participating in a variety of sports including lacrosse, baseball and basketball and it is his love of sports that translates into his love of reading.

Will Malloy, 8, of Hingham was a runner up prize winner for this August’s drawing of the Dependable Cleaners’ 2012 Read to Ride program. 

Malloy entered the contest with The Missing Mitt by Franklin Dixon and won a Curious George book and a signed photo of Kevin Youkilis. Malloy enjoys participating in a variety of sports including lacrosse, baseball and basketball and it is his love of sports that translates  into his love of reading. 

The grand prize winner was Brigid Duggan,  a 10 year old student at Quincy Catholic Academy.  She has won a new bike and a helmet for her submission of the book Kingdom Keepers II, Disney at Dawn, part of her favorite book series.

In its 14th year, Read to Ride is designed to foster the love of reading and provide students ages 6-15 with the tools they need to ensure year-long learning success.  Over the past 13 years, children have read more than 59,000 books.  For every book a child reads, they fill out an entry form and submit it at any Dependable Cleaners store location or with a Dependable Cleaners Home Delivery Driver. will randomly draw one winner and 2 runner-up prize winners every Monday until August 20.
