Students Display Senior Projects
Public display of Senior Projects Program highlights a diversity of interests.
Seniors at will be looking forward to graduation on June 4 but there is still some work to be done before they can throw their caps in the air.
On Wednesday night HHS seniors displayed 16 different projects and experiences.
Seniors, working either individually or in teams, presented the completed undertakings to parents and fellow students with the chance to talk about what had motivated them to choose their particular venture.

All of the projects produced were of personal interest to those involved and included such diverse ideas as working with local wildlife, personal fitness, a trip to the Galapagos Islands, increased awareness of depression and bi-polar disorder, a golf tournament, car detailing, homelessness, teen-targeted marketing, fashion, sports and even the building of a shed using sustainable materials.
The Senior Project Program allows qualified seniors to spend the fourth term working on a substantive project of their own design for twenty or more hours a week with guidance from faculty members. The successful completion of this project is required for graduation.

Projects take place either onsite or at an approved location, with the trip to the Galapagos Islands easily the most exotic of the locations selected by seniors. Students are responsible for ensuring that established targets are met and they are required to keep a journal to document their progress.
