Wally Brings Out the Kid in Hingham High School Students
After winning the "Play Ball" campaign, sponsored by both the Red Sox and Jordan's furniture, HHS earned a visit from Wally the Green Monster
Wally the Green Monster, the official mascot of the Boston Red Sox brought out the kid in Hingham High School students during Friday's lunch.
Wally posed for pictures with the students, and handed out high-fives and even let a few students try on his hat.
"I'm so pumped," HHS senior Levi Dwyer said during Wally's visit. "This is the greatest thing that's happened all year."

earned the right to host Wally after winning the “” campaign, sponsored by both the Red Sox and Jordan’s furniture. The program collected used baseball and softball equipment to be given to the Reviving Baseball in the Inner City (RBI) program.
HHS won the and by promoting the collection drive through daily announcements, , and mass emails.
On Friday, Wally brought smiles to the entire HHS community. He sat at principal Dr. Paula Girouard McCann's desk, hugged the secretaries, and greeted the cafeteria workers.
Many of the High School seniors, who will finish up classes this week, said Wally's visit was a great touch to their final days at school.

"It was a great way to send us seniors out," said HHS senior Kevin Morris. "Wally is a great figure for Boston and we loved having him."
Along with the visit from Wally, HHS also sent four seniors, Shauna Sullivan, Ryan Linehan, Rob Madden, Kevin Minassian and Elizabeth Sypek to a Red Sox game where they were honored on Fenway Park in a pre-game ceremony.
The school also received a $2,500 gift certificate to Jordan's Furniture, which they donated to the Gordo's Gala fundraiser.
