Lexington has begun Three-Month Trial of Traffic Changes in Downtown, Battle Green Area
The town is performing three traffic trials downtown and in the Battle Green area.
LEXINGTON, MA — The Town has begun a three-month trial of traffic changes in Lexington Center, in an effort to increase pedestrian safety downtown and in the Battle Green area, according to a Town announcement Tuesday. Safety trials began on Aug. 13, and are expected to take approximately three months.
The three changes are.
- Eliminating the right turn lane on Massachusetts Avenue westbound at the Edison Way approach (right turn movement is not restricted)
- Eliminating the right turn lane on Massachusetts Avenue eastbound at the Waltham Street approach (right turn movement is not restricted)
- Changing Harrington Road to one-way from Bedford Street toward Massachusetts Avenue
