Lexington has begun Three-Month Trial of Traffic Changes in Downtown, Battle Green Area

LEXINGTON, MA — The Town has begun a three-month trial of traffic changes in Lexington Center, in an effort to increase pedestrian safety downtown and in the Battle Green area, according to a Town announcement Tuesday. Safety trials began on Aug. 13, and are expected to take approximately three months.

The three changes are.

1. Eliminating the right turn lane on Massachusetts Avenue westbound at the Edison Way approach (right turn movement is not restricted)
2. Eliminating the right turn lane on Massachusetts Avenue eastbound at the Waltham Street approach (right turn movement is not restricted)
3. Changing Harrington Road to one-way from Bedford Street toward Massachusetts Avenue
