Lexington PD, Church Drop-Off Points for MLK Day 'Cradles to Crayons' Drive

The goal of the collection drive is to collect 15,000 winter coats.

LEXINGTON, MA – The Lexington Police Department and Grace Chapel are two of 16 police departments and community centers participating in a mass winter clothing drive this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 16, both centers will be accepting new or "like-new" coats, boots and winter clothing with a goal of 15,000 winter coats.

Below are the items needed most for the "Cradles to Crayons" collection drive:

  • Winter coats - boys and girls, size newborn to 18/20, adult medium
  • Winter boots - boys and girls, sizes infant/child 0-13, adult 1-10
  • Winter clothing - boys and girls, newborn/child size 18-20, adult medium

Police departments in Arlington, Belmont, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Lexington, Needham, Newton, Watertown, Wellesley, Weston and Winchester, as well as Babson College, Lexington's Grace Chapel and Temple Shalom in Medford are participating in the drive.

The Lexington Police Department is located at 1575 Massachusetts Ave. and Grace Chapel is located at 59 Worthen Rd.
