Local Temple Donates Welcome Kits to English At Large

The Sisterhood of Temple Isaiah recently assembled 200 kits for new learners enrolling in English At Large programs.

Immigrants and refugees enrolling in programs offered by the local nonprofit English At Large will get a speedy orientation thanks to a special gift from the Sisterhood Social Action Committee at Temple Isaiah in Lexington.

The group from Temple Isaiah assembled 200 Welcome Kits for new English At Large learners, including key phrase cards, notebooks, maps donated by AAA, special information about museums and family recreational activities in the Boston area, a guide to libraries and hospitals, and other items, all placed in a canvas bag embossed with the English At Large logo.

“Our tutors are excited to have these bags to welcome their new learners to our program,” says Csilla Tambor, Director of Volunteer Engagement at English At Large. “We are grateful to the Temple Isaiah Sisterhood Social Action Committee for this thoughtful and generous support!”
