Today is Thursday, June 2. Here are five things you need to know:
Better weather today: Malden was thankfully spared from the terrifying storms that rocked Springfield yesterday evening, but did get quite the light show and downpour. Today should be cooler, drier and windy, according to the National Weather Service.
Ferryway students honored tonight: Got some time tonight to support some Malden kids and appreciate a little art? Head down to the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, where Ferryway School students are participating in Youth Voices, a collaborative art project sponsored by Adobe and the YWCA. The kids put together a stunning collection of videos for the project, including pieces on friendship, making smart decisions and a stop-animation video that would make Ray Harryhausen proud. You can see the Ferryway and other Boston video entries here. Congratulations to the students for a job well done!

Bust out your dancing shoes: The MHS girls Softball team needs your help, and they’ve made it really fun to do so. The team is hosting a fundraiser tonight at Rain Nightlife. Click here for more information.

Because who doesn't want a cutting board with a picture of the Orange Line on it: The MBTA now has an online gift shop, complete with MBTA-themed kitchen appliances (truly, cutting boards!), apparel, greeting cards and art. The store was launched as part of the MBTA's ongoing plan to raise non-fare revenue. You can even buy an MBTA Token (remember those?) necklace.
