Five Things You Need to Know Today, Feb. 22
It's as though last week's balmy weather was an awful prank.

Today is Tuesday, Feb. 22. Here are five things you need to know:
It’s a homemade socks kind of day: We've all been trying to avoid it, but it's been such a cold winter, we have to call in the reserves: It's time to bust out the Cosby sweaters. Expect a high in the upper 20’s, but really, today is a sub-zero day, once you factor in the wind. Layer up, folks, especially if you’re taking the kids out. Just a couple of minutes in weather like this leads to pain on exposed skin.
In case you missed it: The East Boston/Malden Youth Hockey league hosted a peewee team from the Ukraine recently as part of an exchange program. This very cool program is in its fourth year.

Remember friendship bracelets? They’re back: Malden Reads is holding event at the library today at 2:30 p.m.. Kids can make bracelets while learning about some of the themes in the community-wide reading program.
Pass the popcorn: This month’s Senior Center’s is “Salt,” the fairly well-received action thriller starring Angelina Jolie as a CIA agent gone rogue—or has she? Fun fact: The role was originally written for a man, but was rewritten for Jolie after several male actors, including Tom Cruise, backed out of the part. The show starts at 3 p.m. and a light dinner will be served.
