
In the fifth grade ELL class, which is located in room 336 in Beebe school, Carlos Almeida willingly sat down with me recently and answered all sort of questions to help an audience of a few fifth graders.
I immediately found out that Carlos was born in Brazil. Carlos is really a big fan of soccer because all of his childhood was spent playing soccer with his dad, who taught him how to play soccer. Carlos and his dad play soccer outside every weekend, depending on the weather outside.
Another of Carlos’ favorite things to do is to hang out with his friends. Carlos is a very friendly guy. If you are hanging out with him, you won’t stop laughing because he is always cracking jokes.

Carlos read some books. If you were buying books as a Christmas present for Carlos he will not be too happy about it, depending on the genre and the kind of the book. Carlos like reading books about ancient Greeks. Depending on Carlos’ opinion, learning about myths and Gods from ancient Greek is exciting and really interesting.
Carlos Almeida used to go to Roberts elementary school in Medford, but now he goes to Beebe school in Malden. When he finishes high school, Carlos wants to become a lawyer. After being a lawyer, Carlos would want to become a judge. He said that if he becomes a lawyer he would get a lot of money to help the people in need.

Carlos’ favorite school subject is gym or physical education. He told me that he liked gym because you exercise yourself and you get physically fit. As you know, Carlos was born in Brazil, so he basically speaks, read, and fully understands Portuguese.
Carlos’ favorite pastime is playing soccer. He plays soccer as much as he can, depending on the weather.
On his weekends Carlos likes to go out and have fun. He also like going to the park. He loves the world outside of his bedroom window.
I asked Carlos if he could visit another country what would it be. Carlos’ answer was Japan. He chooses Japan because he thinks the patterns on the roof of the house are pretty cool. He also likes the language Japanese. Actually, right now, I think Carlos is trying to learn Japanese by watching a Japanese show online.
