Malden Reminds Residents of Lead Water Pipes Issue

The City has sent out more information after lead levels fell below an "acceptable" standard.

Editor's note: The following doesn't contain any "new" news, but serves as a reminder as the water department reaches out again to residents.

Roughly 25 percent of all pipes delivering water to properties in Malden are made with lead, the water department said in a informational message to residents a month after lead level tests fell short of "acceptable" levels.

The water department's letter, sent with water bills this week, talks about the health effects and sources of lead in water, how to reduce lead exposure, and more.
