Malden Woman Faces Charges in Stabbing

A Malden woman is facing charges for her involvement in a stabbing, which stemmed from an altercation between two groups of people.
Ericka Bennett, of Lowell Street, has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with intent to cause serious bodily harm, reported Wicked Local Malden. Bennett was arrested on Jan. 13, after she was allegedly involved in a physical altercation near the MBTA station on Pleasant Street.
Captain Marc Gatcomb of the Malden Police told Wicked Local that the encounter between the groups started days before when a different altercation between the same groups resulted in someone’s assault. The Jan. 13 fight happened during a chance encounter between the groups.

One victim, a 24-year-old man suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries, during the stabbing.
