A tenant's complaint about missing recycling bins exposed misleading information from a management company and prompted state officials to intervene, highlighting weak enforcement and a push for statewide rules requiring recycling in multifamily housing.
   

• West Nile Virus human cases climb in MA (westernmassnews.com) — Malden is currently listed among the Massachusetts communities at high risk for West Nile Virus, as state health officials report 11 human cases so far this year, mostly in Middlesex and Suffolk counties. With risk expected to continue until the first hard frost, residents are urged to follow Department of Public Health guidance on mosquito precautions even as nighttime temperatures begin to drop.
   

• Naked, Malnourished, Hidden Upstairs: Massachusetts Man Charged With Allegedly Holding Woman Captive For 6 Weeks (newbedfordguide.com) — Malden residents are learning more about a disturbing case in which authorities say a woman was held against her will and sexually abused for about six weeks inside a local Summer Street home. A Massachusetts man was arrested in Malden on charges including trafficking for sexual servitude and kidnapping, and officials are urging anyone with information on fugitives to contact the U.S. Marshals Service.
