Malden Public School Literacy Director Leaves

Dr. Margaret Adams will be the new curriculum director for Melrose Public Schools.

Malden Public School's Director of Language and Literacy Dr. Margaret Adams will be leaving the district to accept a job as the new  Melrose Public School curriculum director. 

Adams has worked for the distirct since 2006.  (editor's note: and we'll miss her work!).

In Malden, Melrose Superintendent Joseph Casey wrote, Adams has overseen reading and writing initiatives and the implementation of a new core reading program for grades K-5.

Prior to working in Malden, Adams was the department head for Bilingual and ESL Services for Brockton Public Schools; previously served as acting and
assistant principal for schools in Boston and Marlborough; and was a classroom teacher in Framingham.

She holds doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a master's of education in special education from Lesley College, and a master's of education in administration, planning, and social policy from Harvard.

Adams takes over for current Curriculum Director Pat Muxie, who is retiring as of July 1. No word yet on who will replace Adams in the Malden school district.
