Video: Malden High Drama Club Heads to State Finals With Student-Written "American Land"
For the first time in over 30 years, Malden will compete in the state finals in Boston.
On Tuesday, Malden High School presented a free, public performance of "American Land." The performance, written entirely by students at the school, was presented at the Massachusetts Theater Guild Festival.
According to Malden High School drama director Sean Walsh, Malden won the first two of three rounds at the festival and is moving onto finals. As they prepare to go against 14 other schools at the John Hancock building in Boston and win a chance at going to the New England Drama Festival, the drama group gave Malden Patch readers the opportunity to experience a couple of the scenes alongside their own commentary.
