Mansfield Man Charged With Threatening North Attleboro Police Gets Probation
Andrew J. O'Keefe, 28, received 18 months of probation.

A Mansfield man accused of threatening President Brack Obama was back in court Thursday for an unrelated case.
Andrew J. O’Keefe, 28, received 18 months of probation after admitting in Attleboro District Court that prosecutors had enough evidence to find him guilty of threatening police officers in North Attleboro with a 4-foot sword according to the Sun Chronicle. O’Keefe must submit to a mental health evaluation and follow whatever treatment is recommended, along with random drug testing.
The sentence stems from a 2014 case where police were called to a North Attleboro home where O’Keefe lived at the time. After police smashed through a sliding glass door, they found Keefe, waving a sword and claiming that he would defend his home. Police used a taser and a non-lethal bean bag gun to subdue O’Keefe.

This isn’t the only legal issue for O’Keefe. He still faces state weapons charges and federal charges for allegedly threatening President Obama.
