Local Priest Presides at Nationally Televised Mass
Fr. Steele from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Marblehead Presided at the CatholicTV Daily Mass

Monday, (September 14, 2015) - The daily Catholic Mass was celebrated at the Watertown studios of CatholicTV in the Chapel of Holy Cross.
Father Michael Steele from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Marblehead, Mass. presided at the daily Mass in honor of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Joining him were parishioners from Our Lady including Ms. Julia Christo who served as lector and Ms. Jacqueline Corona who served Fr. Steele at the altar.
The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross celebrates the uncovering of the True Cross by St. Helena, the mother of the Emperor, Constantine. Toward the later years of her life, St. Helena went on a journey to visit the holy locations in Jesus’ life. One of these locations included the site of Holy Sepulchre, the place where Christ’s tomb was buried. St. Helena excavated the area and uncovered the three crosses, one of which being the True Cross. In celebration of the uncovering, Constantine ordered the construction of churches at Holy Sepulchre and Mount Calvary. September 14th marks the dedication of those churches.
