Marblehead Beaches Reopened

After six local beaches were shut down by the Board of Health last week, all of Marblehead's beaches have been reopened.

After failed water quality tests prompted the town's Board of Health to close six local beaches last week, Marblehead residents are being told it is safe to head back out into the water.

On Thursday, the Board of Health announced the closure of , , Sunset Road Beach, Village Street Pier, , and as they failed to meet the minimum standards for bathing beaches due to heavy rains and resulting stormwater run-off.

All of the town's beaches were tested again on Friday and were found to be safe for swimming. All of the town's beaches will be tested again on Wednesday, Aug. 17, according to the Board of Health.
