• Whale, hello there: Marblehead boater gets some very large visitors (marbleheadcurrent.org) — A longtime Marblehead boater and his dog had an unusually close, 90‑minute encounter with three curious humpback whales about six miles off town this week. He kept the boat in neutral as the gentle giants circled, dove beneath, and repeatedly returned, calling it the most exceptional moment in decades spent on the local waters.
