Summer Scorcher: Marblehead To Open Cooling Center In Thursday's Heat
With temperatures expected to threaten 100 degrees, Marblehead will provide residents with a safe place to cool off Thursday.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — With temperatures expected to threaten a record-breaking 100 degrees on Thursday, Marblehead is looking to provide residents in need with some relief.
The town will open a cooling center both Thursday and Friday at the Brown School on Baldwin Road.
The cooling center will be open on Thursday from noon to 5:30 p.m. The hours on Friday will be from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the heat index to reach a high of 104 degrees on Thursday and 101 degrees on Friday when the air temperatures, which could hit 100 on Thursday, will be a bit lower but humidity will increase.
