Tree Lighting and Carols
Chili-in-a-bag and hot cider warm the shoppers 6-8 pm as people gather for a live tree lighting and carols at 7 pm led by St. Michael's.
St. Michael’s spruce tree at the corner of Summer & Washington Streets will be lit Thursday, December 4 at 7 pm followed by caroling led by St. Michael’s choir. Chili-in-a-bag and hot cider will be available from the tent to warm the body. Take a break from holiday shopping. All are welcome. This second annual tree lighting is a beautiful preview of Christmas season.
Chili-in-a-bag will also be available from the tent on the lawn on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 - 2 during St. Michael’s Heart of Christmas Fair. Parade watchers can grab a bag as they wait, or dash inside for chowder, grilled cheese, hot cocoa, baked goods and a taste of summer. A limited number of Heavenly Lobster Rolls will be available.
At the fair upstairs and down there will be beautifully crafted pottery, baby items, knit & crocheted scarves, hats and ponchos, American Doll clothes, origami pins and jewelry. And of course there will be St. Michael’s famous Rich Uncle’s tables of fine paintings, furniture, Christmas decorations, puzzles, plus jewelry, books and baked goods. Among St. Michael’s objects will be a new Hestia VillageScape of St. Michael’s - with its new steeple! St. Michael’s Christmas Fair is Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 am - 3 pm, with a ticketed preview party Friday, 6-8 pm.
