Marlborough Police Are Looking For New Recruits

The police officer exam will be held in August.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough police department is looking for new recruits and the police officer exam is right around the corner. The department currently has 69 sworn-in officers but is looking to expand. The process to become a Marlborough police officer starts with the police exam.

The police exam is on August 24 at Marlborough High School. To qualify, you must be between 21 and 37-year-old, a non-smoker and have a GED although, preference may be given to applicants possessing a college degree, military experience or a combination of both.

The written exam consists of two parts, including a series of essay questions. There is also a physical abilities exam for those who pass the written exam. Once the right candidate has completed both parts of the exam, they will meet with an interview panel, consisting of sworn members of the department of various ranks and assignments, as well as a representative from the Human Resources Department for the City of Marlborough.

Once a candidate is chosen, there will be background checks and a medical and psychological exam.
