Dale Street Students Participate in Medfield Public Safety Drawing Contest

After a successful contest at the Wheelock School back in the fall, former MPD School Resource Officer, Paul Treggiari along with Medfield Fire Dept. Captain Bill DeKing held a "Medfield Public Safety & Fire Safety Drawing Contest" offering all grade 4 and 5 Dale Street School students an opportunity to participate. Students were asked to draw a picture showing "Proper Public Safety and Fire Safety".

4th and 5th grade Students embraced this contest with Dale St. School and Blake Middle School Art teacher Christina Delaney being instrumental in assisting the students to complete the drawings.

Officer Treggiari and Captain DeKing received a huge number of entries and they chose 20 drawings that best depicted public safety and fire safety initiatives for children and adults. These 20 drawings were then made into magnets and the students were notified that their drawings had been chosen.

The 20 winners gathered outside of the Dale Street School on Wednesday morning and posed for a photo with Principal Grenham, MFD Capt. DeKing and Ms. Delaney. Unfortunately, MPD Officer, Paul Treggiari was unable to attend but was thrilled that this drawing contest expanded to the Dale Street School students with a greater number of students submitting entries . Capt. DeKing told the students these magnets will be displayed on the MPD cruisers and the Medfield Fire Dept. equipment within the next few weeks.

Congratulations to the 20 drawing winners, consisting of 21 students as some students worked together to create one drawing.
