Man Gropes Woman, 2 Assaults, Yelling At Encore Casino: PD

A series of early-morning fights at Encore Boston Harbor yielded two arrests, one summons and one person in protective custody, police said.

EVERETT, MA — Two people were arrested and one person was taken into protective custody after a series of early-morning fights at Encore Boston Harbor, State Police said. Officers responded to the Memoire nightclub shortly after 2 a.m. for a disturbance at closing, according to police.

Shani Mohamed Abo, 29, of Everett, was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he became "combative" with security and responding officers, police said.

A second fight was reported around 2:15 a.m. in the hotel lobby. State Police said 25-year-old Herby Charmant, of Lynn, was involved in a verbal altercation with two women after inappropriately touching one of them. He then pushed one of the women, grabbed her cell phone and threw it across the lobby, according to police.

Charmant was arrested and charged with indecent assault and battery, assault and battery, lewd and lascivious behavior and disorderly conduct.

Police broke a third fight up on the gaming floor around 2:23 a.m. A 26-year-old Lynn man will be summoned to court on a charge of assault and battery for his role in the fight, police said.

As customers were being escorted from the casino, officers noticed a man who was "highly intoxicated and continually yelling." The 32-year-old Lynn resident was taken into protective custody, according to State Police.
