Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating how stress may influence mood and brain activity. Teens will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings. Teens will&nbsp;also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Teens will also be asked to fill out very brief surveys on their smartphone and to wear a smartwatch that tracks their heart rate, skin&nbsp;conductance, physical activity (i.e., step count), and sleep patterns. Parent permission is required if under 18 years of age. Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating factors that make some females better able to cope with stressful experiences and what makes some females more vulnerable to experiencing depression. By participating, you can help them better understand, prevent, and treat adolescent depression. Participants will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings and will also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Parent permission is required for females under 18. Winchester’s Farmers Market, a community gathering place since 2008, opens for the season on Saturday, June 13.The Market, which operates from the second Saturday in June until the last Saturday in October, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.on the Town Common.Come and shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, chicken, and meat from local farms, as well as fresh fish, and a tantalizing array of baked goods, prepared foods, and more. Opening day also features live music with the “heavy jazz” trio Vimana, who will kick off this year’s PorchFest.
