2 Arrested After SWAT Raid Of Medford Home

Police found "several grams" of crack cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash at the Cottage Street home.

MEDFORD, MA — Two people were arrested after police raided a Medford home Tuesday morning. Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies, including NEMLEC SWAT, the DEA and the Medford and Woburn police departments, searched the Cottage Street home around 5 a.m. and arrested 30-year-old Shakeem Warner and 33-year-old Melody Walsh.

Warner was arrested as he tried to throw a pistol out of the second-story window and climb out himself, police said. Officers found "several grams" of crack cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash, according to police.

The pair are residents of Cottage Street, despite claiming an address in East Boston, police said. Warner was charged with conspiracy to violate drug law, possession to distribute a Class B drug (cocaine), firearm use in a felony (subsequent offense), unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a firearm without an FID card. Walsh was charged with conspiracy to violate drug law and possession to distribute a Class B drug (cocaine).
