26 Medford Officers Disciplined For Detail Violations: Report

Nearly a quarter of the department has been disciplined and some have been suspended amid an investigation into detail policy violations.

MEDFORD, MA — Nearly a quarter of the Medford Police Department is facing disciplinary action amid an investigation into violations of detail policies, according to Boston 25. The investigation covered a three-month period from February to April 2018 and swept up sergeants and lieutenants. About a dozen officers were suspended without pay, the network reported.

About 26 officers in total were disciplined. The Medford Police Department has 112 officers.

Chief Jack Buckley told Boston 25 several policies were violated, including failure to supervise and falsely recording time cards. The Medford Police Department is expected to release more information Thursday.
