Medford Girl the Arlington Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year

Meet our Youth of the Year, Trisha MacLean! Trisha is a long time member of the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, a part of our Diplomas to Degrees group, and also a Junior Staff member! This summer Trisha had the very important (and difficult) task of working in our Sunshine Room. As a Club member, Trisha flocked to the Sunshine Room every summer. The Sunshine Room was always a favorite of Trisha's because she had a close relationship with staff member, Katherine Wall. When Katherine Wall passed away in 2015, this left the Sunshine Room in need of new staff. Trisha had this daunting task...

"This job meant so much more to me than just setting up crafts for kids. This job was me carrying out Katherine Wall’s legacy and always having the same open and accepting attitude she had towards everyone and being there for everyone and making their time at the Club fun and special. This was no easy task but every day going into work I’d look up and see Katherine’s hockey stick hanging in the Sunshine Room and I’d know she was there with me ready to tackle on the day full of crafts and wild games." -Trisha
