Assembly AMC Strives for Best Picture Marathon

Once it sells 100 tickets, AMC Assembly Row 12 will screen this year's Best Picture nominees, one after another after another.

It’s going to be almost like a night-before-of-final exam cram session….except with watching movies instead of studying, and a sense of self-satisfaction and cultural enlightenment instead of a passing grade.

For the benefit of those who just plain never got around to seeing one or more of this year’s Best Picture nominees, AMC is screening all eight in a 24-hour marathon on Feb. 21, the Saturday before the Oscars. The only caveat is participating theaters must sell 100 advance tickets before they can host the event. Naturally, AMC Assembly Row 12 has offered itself up as a possible site for such truly epic binge-watching.

Considering Somerville’s collective affinity for prestigious films, the odds that the Assembly AMC will fail to fill 100 seats seems highly unlikely. Those who want to lock down a spot to viewBoyhood, The Theory Of Everything, Birdman, Selma,American Sniper, The Imitation Game, Whiplash, andThe Grand Budapest Hotel in succession should click here for tickets.
