Three silent films with live organ accompaniment by Peter Krasinski
Join internationally acclaimed organist Peter Krasinski of Brookline as he accompanies an eclectic trio of silent films at Chevalier Theatre at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2: 1956 Oscar winner “The Red Balloon,” an enchanting tale of a French boy and his friend; Buster Keaton’s frolicking family voyage “The Boat” (1921); and comical convicts Laurel & Hardy in “Liberty” (1929). Krasinski, who accompanied the silent classic “Wings” at Chevalier Theatre in 2011, specializes in improvisational silent film accompaniment. Krasinski also will accompany a short film compiled from videos submitted by Medford residents depicting their daily journeys around town.
Tickets are $10 ($5 for ages 10 and under) and are available through Brown Paper Tickets; at Medford Electronics, 25 Salem St., Medford, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays; and will be sold at the door.
The event is part of CACHE in Medford’s fifth annual Arts Across Medford festival taking place throughout October. www.medfordfestival.org
