Carnival Cruise or Aircraft Carrier?

OK then, so is everybody all fired up about the special election for U. S. Senator coming up on June 25^th?

I didn’t think so.  Even the Tea Party which emerged in 2010 to send Scott Brown to Washington is out to lunch on this choice.

On the one hand (the Left) we have incumbent Ed Markey who has held that office for more years than many of his supporters have been alive.  He is known for driving an ice cream truck each summer in upscale Lexington, MA helping to pay tuition for Boston College.

With that entrepreneurial experience and a shiny law degree from the same institution, "Eddie the Ice Cream Man" had a short career in a law office before running for Congress. He first took office in 1976 and has held the Congressional seat ever since then only facing opponents three times in 37 years; eight times he faced no opposition at all.

Markey is now opposed by Gabriel Gomez who was only 11 when Markey took office.  A former Navy SEAL, Gomez is the son of hard working immigrant parents from Colombia who saw their son graduate the U. S. Naval Academy with merit, become a pilot flying planes off carriers and going on to SEAL training and becoming a commander of an elite team. After service he went to Harvard Business School where he earned an MBA going on to be a successful businessman and investor. He and his wife are raising 4 children.

Detractors call Gomez a RINO (Republican in Name Only) because he has crossed party lines to support candidates and written to Obama and Gov. Patrick seeking appointment to the seat vacated by John Kerry, Secretary of State, since Hillary stepped down in preparation for her possible presidential bid in 2014. (Does this all remind you of a chess game or perhaps musical chairs…or is it more like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic?)

Tea Party Conservatives were not pleased when Gomez proudly proclaimed in his recent debate with Markey that he will be the 9^th to join the “Gang of Eight” pushing the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill which is even more odious and unworkable than Obamacare (The Un-affordable Healthcare Act).

Titanic or Carnival Cruise Line?…Take your pick or watch from the shore hoping a former Aircraft Carrier/ Navy SEAL team commander can  help turn the ship of state from certain disaster.

Whether Ed Markey or Gabe Gomez wins we have a real mess on our hands created by this administration including Obama and Markey and other Progressives who have trod on the U.S. Constitution which made us the greatest nation on Earth. If we want to preserve any of our liberties for the next generation we better kick into high gear and vote them out of office.
