Fact Checking Political Campaigns - Solar Company Loans

I wrote a similarly titled article on my Blog and felt it had a particularly local impact being that it relates to the things done in Massachusetts with our taxpayer money. 

The quick summary is that the political finger pointing at President Obama by Mitt Romney and the GOP over the Solyndra bankruptcy and Department of Energy loan extremely hypocritical given Romney's own record in Massachusetts. I cannot believe Mitt Romney's stunt last week at the former Solyndra Headquarters.

Guess which governor of Massachusetts gave now bankrupt Konarka Technologies, a solar manufacturing company based in Lowell, MA,  a $1.5 million state grant after taking office in 2003?

Guess whose administration provided millions of taxpayer dollars to now defunct Evergreen Solar?

That's right, GOP Presidential Candidate and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney did.

Don't misunderstand me, I think the investments in Evergreen Solar, Konarka Technologies and Solyndra were the right call at the time.  I myself invested my money in Evergreen Solar and did not get out in time.
